In this episode of White Threads FlossTube, I show and talk about the biscornu project in my upcoming book “Frisian Whitework: Dutch Embroidery from Friesland”. It’s a pretty project featuring more lovely Dutch Heritage fabrics, worked in white linen thread on white linen fabric.
I had a request from one of my viewers for me to talk about the threads that are shown in my FlossTube video opening screen. The section shown is actually a small part of a much larger photo of a whole heap of white or nearly white threads. In this video I go through each of those threads and talk about them, what I’ve used them for, and how you could use them.
If you are reading this in an email, you can find the video at https://youtu.be/SYfrpezHiGA
Episode notes:
Some of the threads shown in the video are available from Vetty Creations. http://www.vettycreations.com.au/catalogue-threads.html
White Threads is the blog of Yvette Stanton, the author, designer, publisher behind Vetty Creations' quality needlework books and embroidery products.

Really looking forward to the book.
Thanks BG!
DMC Floche is readily available in the United States. (At needlework shops, that is. Large craft stores such as Michael’s, JOANN, and Hobby Lobby don’t carry it.) My understanding is that it’s currently distributed exclusively by Fleur de Paris in Burbank, California, which is probably why it’s harder to obtain outside of North America.
I’ve seen it for sale at Needle in a Haystack and Lacis, both in the Bay Area of California, but any needlework shop in the United States (and probably Canada) should be able to get it easily.
Thanks Tim. Yes, I was pretty sure it was available in the US, because Mary Corbet seems to mention it often. And every time she did, the needlework store I used to work at in Sydney used to get enquiries from people wanting to purchase it!
