Tina’s finished silk sampler

A couple of weeks after Tina showed me (and all of us) her progress on the Frisian Whitework Silk Sampler, she has now completed it and it is magnificent!

Online classes aren’t a high priority for me

Because of the way the pandemic changed our lives, we all realised that maybe we didn’t all need to be in the one place at the one time to meet. And so, since then, the increase in requests for online classes has been huge. For you, it often boils down to $$$. You don’t […]

Jardin de Fleurs samplers restocked

Some years ago, I was asked to teach an embroidery stitch sampler class. I didn’t want to design your stock-standard sampler, so this is what I created: the Jardin de Fleurs cushions. To all the people who are currently at the EGA National Seminar in Atlanta, I hope you’re having a wonderful time! I submitted to teach at this seminar, WAAAYYY back, and am now so glad that my classes weren’t selected. I’m simply not well enough. Going all the way to the US for 5 […]

2024 ANZEG conference

There’s a question that many Kiwis, particularly the ones who are booked into my classes at the upcoming ANZEG conference, have probably been wondering.

“Will Yvette be teaching at the ANZEG conference this year?” (I have two classes scheduled, booked in before I got sick.)

Here’s my answer. It is my intention to be […]

Celebrating embroiderers’ guilds

Narrabri group (The Embroiderers’ Guild NSW), smøyg class, 2021

Today I thought we would celebrate embroiderers’ guilds. I’ve been a member of the Embroiderers’ Guild of NSW for many years now. I have taught for them and many other guilds, in Australia and internationally. Guilds are wonderful places for learning as there are […]
