White Threads

Have you found any errors?

I know that many of you don’t even have your copy of “Hardanger Filling Stitches” yet, but I was wondering if anyone who does has found any mistakes. I’d love to think there aren’t any, but I’m far too much of a realist to actually think that’s true!

I usually post errata notices on […]

Errata notice – Frisian Whitework

I have been alerted to a couple more mistakes in my book Frisian Whitework: Dutch Embroidery from Friesland. Previously listed mistakes can be found here.

They are as follows: Page 39: stitches and techniques listing – Four thread eyelets are listed but are not used in this project. Algerian eyelets are actually used. Their stitch […]

White Thread FlossTube 86 – How is it whitework if there’s colour?

In today’s episode of White Threads FlossTube, I explain where to find errata notices for my books. And following a question from a Facebook group participant, I answer the question “How is it whitework if there’s colour?” with regards to Frisian Whitework.

If you are reading this in an email, the video can be […]

Errata notice – Frisian Whitework

I am always incredibly grateful to the people who contact me to let me know they have found a problem in any of my books. It’s always disappointing to know that some mistakes have crept through the checking process, but it is also understandable, because I’m human. I’d love there to be no mistakes, but […]

errata notice

Whenever I send off a book to the printer, there is a great feeling of elation, tempered very much by a great feeling of dread. I *know* there will be a mistake somewhere. It’s just a matter of how terrible it is.

And so, today, I eat humble pie. Yes, there are two mistakes found […]

Errata notice – Sardinian Knotted Embroidery

It has come to my attention that there are some further errors in the Peahole Hemstitch instructions in “Sardinian Knotted Embroidery”. (See previous errata notice)

The mistakes are found in the beginning sections of both the left-handed (page57) and right-handed (page60) instructions.

The corrections for Steps 1 to 6 shown below.

I sincerely […]

Errata notice

Thank you to Joylene, who recently contacted me to alert me to a problem with some of the instructions in “Sardinian Knotted Embroidery”.

Page 58 (left-handed instructions for Peahole Hemstitch), step 1 should read: 1 Knot the end of the thread. From the front, insert the needle in the woven corner square in the lower […]

Portuguese Whitework tablecloth pattern errata

I was recently notified that there was an error on the pattern chart for the tablecloth in Portuguese Whitework.

On the chart, some of the pink numbers which denote the count of threads are incorrect. Wherever it says 60 threads on the pattern, it should say 72. The written instructions within the book are correct. […]

Hardanger step-by-steps

In the most recent issue of Inspirations magazine I have a Hardanger project – Treasure Chest – a collaboration with Janie Hubble.

One of the features of this design is needleweaving that has groups of three parallel woven bars. The process for doing these neatly so that the thread doesn’t show up obviously between […]
