For this episode’s piece of embroidered clothing, Yvette is wearing her shirt from “Smøyg: Pattern Darning from Norway” which has pattern darning on the collar. She shows how a whitework Hardanger design can be re-interpreted in colour, and makes mention of the book she’s working on at the moment.

It’s so hard to do that necessary planning ahead at the moment, isn’t it! I wish you all the best with the new book…
Thanks Rachel. I’m finding it to be a very enjoyable process!
I’ve always wanted to get into Hardanger; I tried it once from a not-good book long ago and it was a failure, but I didn’t have the right kind of supplies. Someday I will get your book and really do it! I already have the Smøyg book, though, so I’m going to do that first. (I have a special weakness for all things Scandinavian, as I lived in DK for a while, and in fact that’s where I got good at cross-stitch, so I guess I can attribute my love of embroidery to that!)
You have lots of lovely learning ahead of you, Jean!
