Here is your very first glimpse of my new book, to be released in mid to late 2014. It is called “Sardinian Knotted Embroidery: Whitework from Teulada” and features the beautiful knotted embroidery of Teulada, Sardinia.
More details will be released as they become available. Please share this exciting news far and wide with all your embroidering friends!

White Threads is the blog of Yvette Stanton, the author, designer, publisher behind Vetty Creations' quality needlework books and embroidery products.

Wow! This book is on my list to be added to my collection. I love the cover. Well done!
Thanks for your encouragement and enthusiasm, Antonia!
It looks great Yvette!
Thank you Jeanine. 😉
Oh Yvette, this looks beautiful! I am fascinated by the endless variety of whitework embroidery styles. Thank you for introducing us to yet another technique. I very much look forward to your book becoming available in the UK.
Thanks Kathryn. My Europe distributors have already had some input into this book, so it will get to the UK in the fullness of time. 🙂
Based on the biscornu photo you showed us a while ago I would have guessed Catherine de Medici stitch. Is Sardinian related?
No, they are not related actually. 🙂
Will your book be available to Asians (Sri Lanka) as well?
I have distributors in Australia, New Zealand, the US and Europe. My European distributors have particularly large reach. However, if none of them work for you, anyone is welcome to order directly from my website. I’m only limited in where I can send to by things like sanctions. Apart from that, I’m happy to send books anywhere!
Bonjour Yvette,
Thanks for your interest. I feel pretty sure that you will be able to get the book in France, when it is available. I am glad that you feel confident enough working with the photos and diagrams alone because of the language barrier. I hope you find success with this book also.
I bought four of your books except the left and right hand emb guides.
Can you name the type of SCISSORS to use for Hardanger embroidery?
When i type hardanger scissors on the internet many types appear.
I’m confused… Suggest a good one.
Hi Shaz, I actually wrote a blog post about this issue about this time last year. You can find it here:
http://vettycreations.com.au/white-threads/2013/04/22/the-ideal-scissors-for-cutwork/#sthash.pPBmT99j.dpbs
Hopefully that should answer all the questions you have. If not, please ask more questions.
Thanks Yvette!
The MOUNTMELLICK EMBROIDERY book says that we are supposed to stitch with a particular yarn which is not available in my country. We have the following hand embroidery threads-
Stranded cotton, Pearl cotton no:8, Anchor Mercerized knitting cotton, Crochet cotton no:8, metal threads….
Will you be able to Suggest one from the above? I know that mountmellick Emb loses its originality but since i have no other options….
Please reply
Firstly, I’m happy to post the correct threads to your country. 🙂 They can be found on my website.
What you’re looking for is a thread with NO shine. Matte crochet or knitting cotton would be your best option. Definitely not pearl cotton. And not mercerised anything.
I hope that helps.

Hi Yvette,
I stumbled across this posting and am very excited. It seems to be what I have been looking for as far as Italian needlework.
Is it true it will be published in July where you live and October in the US? If so, I don’t think I want to wait…and will pre-order through you.
Thank you!
Hi Robert, sorry for the delay in replying. I’ve been away on a research trip. The book will ship to America at the same time as it ships to Australia. It will take a little longer to get there, and then will go out as soon as it can. I don’t think you’ll have to wait until October exactly. But it does take time to get it out to shops, and therefore may be a little longer than July.
I already have your book. Considering it as a teaching for our stitch group. Looks so beautiful.
