White Threads

the next book

I’m turning ideas over in my head for what book to write next. I could write another Hardanger book, a book of Mountmellick projects, another merezhka book, another stitch dictionary or two, or…

I have heaps of ideas, but figuring out which one to do next is the difficulty!

Do you have any preferences? Is there anything you WISH I would write just for you?!

What about a book of projects to do with a group. Why? There are many groups offering craft lessons that are dull are lacklustre. Wouldn’t it be better if there was a book of projects that are not too difficult but end up beautiful. Maybe some banners, embroidered cards, project bags, scarves, wallets, or pillow cases that look as if the performer has been to some whiz bang classes not usually available in Cloncurry or Coconut Island or Darwin. A book like a series of lessons, with your special touch and expertise in every chapter.

Although I am still partway through 3 projects in your Hardanger book, I would love to see a sequel!!!! I can’t get enough of your lovely projects Yvette, thank you so much for all your great project ideas!

Well, I am currently working through a set of Hardanger cards to mail as thank you cards (the first one is here http://enbrouderie.com/2012/02/14/very-pink-hardanger-card/) and I am enjoying it a lot. Your work is so elegant; I would love to see a small book with some designs for cards. Perhaps some of each technique rather than all hardanger? Then I could try everything! I totally understand if you don’t feel like writing a book just for me though 🙂

Hi Hannah, thanks very much for the suggestion! Cards are a lovely thing to make – small, but enjoyable!

A stitch dictionary with really obscure stitches?

Already on my list! 😉 My concern with it is that during this time of economic downturn, maybe it is bit esoteric for most people…
