I wanted to continue to follow up on the natty knitters and their garden, so every few days, I have been doing a Google search just in case something shows up somewhere.
Bingo!
From the Regional Arts NSW website comes the following about the grant that they have received:
$2,215 to The Natty Knitters of Griffith for The Knitted Garden. The group will knit/crochet a life-sized garden for display at the Griffith Regional Gallery during ‘Flower Power”’in October 2010 as part of the Open Gardens & Orange Sculptures Festival.
Ok, so it WILL be life-sized. What does that mean? How big is a garden? It could be a window box, or it could be acres and acres. And there will be crochetting, not just knitting.
My interest is even further piqued… I wonder if there’s any way I can get in touch with these people to interview them? Stay tuned…

Hello!
I might be able to help you with this – my sister is the organiser of the Natty Knitters and is also organising the Garden. Their website is http://thenattyknittersgriffithnsw.weebly.com/ . There is no contact information on the website and I don’t want to put her email address here, but if you go to the website and leave a message, I will let her know to look at it. I have also sent her a link to this discussion, so hopefully she will also post here.
I live in the UK, by the way, and was “googling” the Garden and came across your discussion.
Best regards,
Jan
Thank you very much Jan! Since posting, I have been in contact with Liz Brooks of the Natty Knitters. Is she your sister? There will be a post with lots more information about the Natty Knitters of Griffith appearing here in the near future. 🙂
Hello Yvette,
Yes, Liz Brooks is my sister – glad you’ve been in touch!
