fluoro silk

Now this is just bizarre: fluoro coloured silk spun by silk worms. That is, not dyed, but spun already coloured.

I have no idea what to make of that. If it doesn’t hurt the silkworms then I don’t suppose there’s a problem?

    Fascinating!
Sent the link off to Michael Cook. Since it’s from Australian National Geo, he might not have seen it. (You Do know of Michael and his site, WormSpit, don’t you ?! :-). He raises his own worms, spins, and embroiders.

Wow, that really is wonderful. I wonder when embroidery thread will be available?

Fluoro might be great for Beading flowers, jewelry. I believe fluoro is a fishing line I found on GOOGLE and ebay, Texas/USA

I would have thought that anything that hurt the silkworms would result in them either not living to spin the silk or spinning poorly, so it can’t possibly hurt them.

I believe there is also a strain of the cotton plant that produces cotton that is not white, but green…
