This week I received an email inviting me to teach at Country Bumpkin’s needlework conference “Beating Around the Bush” in April 2012 in Adelaide, Australia. I was thrilled to be invited back, as I loved my time teaching there last year.
Only the earliest of details about the conference have been announced yet, but you can find a little information here.
At this stage it seems likely that I will be teaching beginners Hardanger, Mountmellick embroidery (for all skill levels), and a class on difficult and unusual embroidery stitches for intermediate/advanced stitchers.
The difficult and unusual stitches class came about because last year, my left-handed stitch dictionary was about to be released, and I took along some promotional materials. Many of the students in my Mountmellick class particularly, were really interested in some of the more unusual stitches that I had used in the book, and particularly on the cover embroidery. I did teach some of these stitches to them as a bonus in the class, for those who were interested. They really enjoyed this, and together we all came up with the idea for the unusual stitches class, which they were really excited about.
What fun! So start saving your pennies now, and I’ll see you there.
