three girls at a wedding

Before we went away to Ethiopia, I made my daughters each a dress to wear to the wedding for which I made my beaded dress. For my younger daughter, I made one out of hot pink Chinese satin – it suits her personality perfectly! I made a dark green delustred satin dress for my older daughter, with embroidery in green on the bodice. A bit more subdued, for a girl who is elegant and refined.
wedding dressesSo here’s the three of us in our “wedding dresses” on Saturday at the wedding. It was in the Hunter Valley north of Sydney. We had perfect weather, and despite it being April, it certainly was not too cold for sleeveless dresses.

My daughters looked very beautiful in their special dresses – they both said they really enjoyed wearing them. (They certainly had been terribly excited about it all beforehand!) They had a great time dancing the night away with cousins and uncles and aunts.

A very proud mum… 🙂

    Hi there Yvette,

Thank you so much for posting the picture of you three ladies together. The dresses are all perfect fits………….congratulations to the seamstress.

As I said before, I am sure your husband was incredibly proud of you all, and to also say that you made all the outfits too.

You all three look lovely in you dresses. I like that they are similar but each tailored to the wearers personality and taste.

The fact that mine is similar to theirs is quite by accident. I made theirs from the same pattern as that was just easier. But I chose my pattern based on what I would like to wear. So I suppose that because I made both decisions, its not so much by accident, more a product of my personal taste. 🙂
