Yesterday I received the ISBN and the barcode for ‘The Right-Handed Embroiderer’s Companion’ – my next stitch dictionary. This all makes it quite official that the book is going ahead!
I have ordered some new hand-dyed felt from Colourstreams to do a new cover embroidery, and received an email saying that it was posted yesterday. I think I chose colours that I didn’t have previously (its hard to tell, and I don’t remember their names), so am looking forward to seeing and working with the new colours.
I have gotten through over half of the book, flipping and turning diagrams, and making changes where necessary. I need to complete that, then go through and make the text match the revised diagrams. Then I need to check the photos and rephotograph the stitch examples where necessary and maybe flip some of the inspiration images.
So its all coming together. Though there’s still a lot to go, its not the same as writing a book from scratch! 🙂

Aaaah. There can never be too many stitch dictionaries in the needlework world. Looking forward to this one – no doubt it will be exceptional!!!!!
Welcome home, by the way! Glad to see you back safe and sound. It was great fun following your adventures, Yvette!

No, Yvette – it isn’t the same as writing a book from scratch – in some unexpected ways (I speak from experience of adapting one bit of writing into another) it will be more difficult!
Good luck though!
