needlework stories

I recently received a lovely email from a customer, who gave me permission to share it with you.

Hello Yvette

My Aunt and Uncle were visiting from Sydney and my mother brought them to stay at our home. My mother is an extremely talented knitter, sewer, candlewicker and general crafts woman and was intrigued by the Embroidery work my Aunt was doing.

They sat together and my Aunt showed her your book [Mountmellick Embroidery: Inspired by Nature] and explained how straightforward the book was to follow and demonstrated some of the stitches to Mum on the piece she was working on. (My Aunt had attended one of your workshops in Sydney) My Aunt and Uncle stayed an extra night with us after my mother returned home and my Aunt asked me if I would go online (the details were on the jacket of the book) and buy your book for Mum as a thank you gift for putting them up whilst they were over.

I will be sure to take photos of any of the projects she completes for you.

Regards
LR

I love these stories of how people share embroidery and discover new styles. I am always interested in hearing how people came to be interested in the embroidery they love. If you have a story of how you came to fall in love with a particular style of embroidery, I’d really enjoying hearing it from you!
