I’ll be exhibiting at the Sydney Craft and Quilt Fair in just a few weeks’ time. I’ll have a large range of products with me – everything* you need for whitework embroidery! (*Maybe not quite everything, but pretty close!)
Today I’d like to show you some of the whitework fabrics that I will have with me. From bottom left to top right: Sotema 450 linen (60 count), Zweigart Newcastle linen (40 count), Sotema 20L linen (38 count), Zweigart Edinburgh linen (36 count), Weddigen 160 linen (34 count), Zweigart Cashel linen (28 count), Cotton satin jean, heavy weight.
Not shown are Weddigen 22 (50 count), and Cotton satin jean, medium weight.
These are gorgeous fabrics, specifically chosen for their beautiful qualities on which to embroider whitework. Some are just right for counted embroidery, and others are perfect for surface embroidery. Cotton satin jean is used for Mountmellick embroidery and anything else where a good solid base fabric is required. Sotema 450 linen and Weddigen 22 linen are beautiful for monograms and very fine counted embroidery. And all the others are also suitable for counted whitework such as Hardanger, Schwalm, Frisian whitework, Portuguese Whitework, merezhka, drawn thread work, pulled thread work, Sardinian knotted embroidery and many more…
We will have these in fat quarter and fat eighth precuts. The actual sizes of these vary depending on the width of the original fabrics.
So come and see me for all your whitework fabric needs at the Vetty Creations stand at the Sydney Craft and Quilt Fair. Stand H10, 29th June-3rd July, Sydney Showground, Homebush.
If you have any questions about these fabrics, maybe for a project you have in mind, please just ask!
