This morning at about 6:15 (it was still quite dark at the time and therefore difficult to see my watch) I heard a lone bell ringing.
It sounded like a church bell, and slowly it rang 7 times. It was not kids having a bit of fun, finding a bell and ringing it. It was a very. slow. solemn. deliberate. ringing.
I have never heard that here before. I doubt very much that it was from an Orthodox church, as they were loudly and longly broadcasting their calls to prayer at the same time (and still haven’t stopped since).
The Anglican church is not far from here, and they have a church bell. I’m not sure if the sound of their bell would carry this far though.
So, what and why? Its all a bit mysterious, and I guess I’ll never know the answer!
