Guimarães embroidery comes from the town of Guimarães in the north of Portugal. It features a drawn thread framework onto which motifs predominantly made of bullions and eyelets are worked.
“Flores brancas” means “white flowers” in Portuguese.
This pattern features detailed step-by-step instructions, with accompanying diagrams. It is also available as a kit. The finished embroidery could be framed or made into a needlebook or pincushion.
