I have two upcoming workshops – a one day one, and a two day one – both in my local region.
Frisian Whitework Tree of Life Workshop with Yvette Stanton
28-29th May, 2022
Walcha Handmade, Walcha NSW Australia
Frisian whitework, which comes from Friesland in the Netherlands, is counted embroidery, where the placement of the stitches is determined by counting the fabric’s threads. This panel, which could be used as a cushion front, features a large tree of life and two initials of your choice. The stitching is done on 36 count linen, with linen thread.
All skill levels are welcome!

Hand Embroidered Pendant Workshop with Yvette Stanton
9th July, 2022
Wintery Weekend of Wondrous Workshops, Uralla NSW Australia (this is the next town north of Walcha)
In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to work an embroidered pendant. The stitching is done in variegated cotton thread on 28 count linen, with small seed beads as highlights. A range of colour ways will be available to choose from, including the ones shown in the photograph. Depending on how quickly students stitch, they may be able to take home a finished pendant – ready to wear! – at the end of the day.
Instruction will be given on each of the stitches, and on mounting the embroidery into the pendant tray.
All skill levels are welcome!
