Last night I received a phone call from someone working on an upcoming dramatic production who needs several identical items, (a “key prop”) embroidered. She couldn’t say what it was for – she could be immediately dismissed from her post – but I have an idea or two.<\/p>\n

I don’t usually do commissions, but there were two words she mentioned (a name actually) in connection with the production, that made me immediately think, “oh, wow!”<\/p>\n

It was the sort of thing that makes me feel terribly torn: I have a book (that I’m loving doing) to write, yet I’d love to be involved in this mysterious project. So I put my thinking cap on, and emailed my sister (Prue Scott, my co-author on Mountmellick Embroidery: Inspired by Nature<\/a>) and asked her if she’d like to do it with me, thereby reducing the amount of work I’d need to do personally.<\/p>\n

Just a few minutes later the phone rang. “That’ll be Prue,” I said to myself as I went to answer it.<\/p>\n

“Yes, in capital letters,” was her greeting.<\/p>\n

And so we will. I expect in time I’ll learn more, and be able to share it with you closer to the time where the production is released to the public.<\/p>\n
