I’ve been working on a new Hardanger book for some time. Its going to be about a very different style of Hardanger than my first book.<\/p>\n
I have been taking some photos of projects in the last week or so, and been thrilled with the results. In recent years, I have looked to Australia cookbook photography for inspiration when taking photos for my books. The styling of photos in Australian cookbooks is typically very spare and not over-propped. The lighting is usually natural, and very light and airy looking. The focal length is often quite short. I love the effect of this style of photography.<\/p>\n
However, with this book, I’m going for a different look. This time, my focus is on an opulent and rich look. This means that rather than trying to keep my photos light and airy, I’m focusing a lot on saturated colour.<\/p>\n
Before I take any more photos, I need to finish some more projects though!<\/p>\n
The stitch instruction diagrams are nearly all done, which is a huge slab of any of my books.<\/p>\n
So when’s the book going to be out? No idea! \ud83d\ude42 When I write, I fit it in around my family. That means even though I might prefer releasing a book in time for Christmas (in terms of sales and business sense), it doesn’t always happen like that for me. However, to give you an idea, I’m always aiming for a pre-Christmas release. But as time goes on, this is looking less and less likely… and because I’m the only one working on the book, I have no-one to blame but myself!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
