The other night, my friend Belinda who ran Vetty Creations for me while I was away in Ethiopia, and I went along to my church and along with about 140 other people, constructed and decorated gingerbread houses. They’ve done it many times before at church, but I’ve never done it before, and neither had Belinda.<\/p>\n

We had such fun! We were supplied with the gingerbread shapes, all cooked and ready to construct. There was a pack of assorted lollies (candies) and a bag of “glue” (icing). There were minimal instructions, but after figuring out which gingerbread parts were the roof and which were the walls, we got on with constructing.<\/p>\n

People kept commenting on how neatly mine was going together. I informed them that I did model making at uni, so I had a bit of experience with constructing models. I must say though, that none of my uni work was made from gingerbread or icing!<\/p>\n

Here is my finished house. Its currently sitting in the middle of the dining room table, and my younger daughter is champing at the bit to get into it!
