Apart from the bonus planisphere that we will enjoy using when we head out to western NSW in the near future, there was a fascinating article on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theiff.org\/reef\/index.html\">The Institute For Figuring<\/a> and their project to crochet a coral reef.<\/p>\n<p>The Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef project is the brainchild of twins (as an aside: all twins are excellent&#8230;) Margaret and Christine Wertheim, using the techniques of hyperbolic crochet.<\/p>\n<p>Its an interesting mix of science, maths and crafting, and I was thrilled to see needlecrafts get a full page in such a mainstream journal as Australian Geographic!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We received our copy of Australian Geographic magazine this week.
