Its now time to unveil the cover of our new book “Mountmellick Embroidery: Inspired by Nature”, the 2nd edition, which is fully revised and expanded.<\/p>\n

As with my most recent covers, I like to have a lovely close-up of the stitching and let it simply speak for itself. Someone once said to me its as if I can’t bear to cover any of it up!<\/p>\n

Honestly, I suspect this book is the most eagerly awaited release since “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”…! Oh well, maybe not! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Inside, you’ll find all you need to know about Mountmellick embroidery.<\/p>\n

  • This edition is now full colour, with 104 pages (up from 88).<\/li>\n
  • There are two new projects created especially for this edition.<\/li>\n
  • There are many many more photos, with close-ups of all the finished stitches in the stitch instructions chapter, and close-ups of each motif in every project.<\/li>\n
  • In the stitch instructions chapter, there are additional variations and details, such as how to turn corners with those trickier stitches.<\/li>\n
  • In the knitting instructions chapter, there is an additional authentic Mountmellick fringe, and each of the three fringes are described step-by-step with diagrams and photos.<\/li>\n
  • There are new photos of old Mountmellick embroidery, and historical photos of the town of Mountmellick to provide context.<\/li>\n

    Even if you have the first edition of “Mountmellick Embroidery: Inspired by Nature” there’s definitely more for you in this edition. And if you don’t have the first edition, this book is all you’ll need to make your own beautiful Mountmellick embroidery.<\/p>\n
