Sometimes people ask me, “what’s the best one for a beginner?” Well, that really depends! If you don’t want to count threads, then one of my stitch dictionaries will give you so many stitch options to play around and experiment with, or Mountmellick is a non-counted embroidery. If you like counting threads (maybe you’ve done some counted cross stitch and want to try something new) then I’d suggest “Frisian Whitework” or “Early-Style Hardanger”.<\/p>\n

ALL of my books are written with beginners in mind. But equally, there is so much in each book that there will be something new even for people who have been stitching for years. <\/p>\n

They all have step-by-step instructions with clear diagrams. Apart from “The Left-Handed Embroiderer’s Companion” and “The Right-Handed Embroiderer’s Companion” which are my stitch dictionaries, all my books have a range of projects to try. And there’s historical information on the embroidery style. Many of my books have both left- and right-handed stitch instructions.<\/p>\n

My stitch dictionaries are regarded by many as the best stitch dictionaries around. They love the clear instructions, the huge range of stitches, and the bright and colourful inspiration photos. <\/p>\n
