Mary Corbet has done the world a disservice by showing everyone how lovely and neat her workroom is, even when it is “messy”! To me it looked so tidy that I thought she must have only just moved in. I have had a couple of emails from people lately to let me know that they were finding certain things difficult. This gives me an excellent opportunity to fix those things. There are two actually: Rainbow Girl is the “out there” one, while The Bookworm is a quiet achiever. So today I have some photos of The Bookworm. Last Saturday we went with some friends to an indoor rock climbing gym, for a bit [...] Two wonderful successes to report today. Firstly, the Australian Fistula Fund has now finished tallying the monies received and issuing receipts for the Walk For Women, raising money for The Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital. The total raised was over $AU86000! Wowee! Just to clarify, this was the combined total of all participants, not my [...] On the weekend I got officially fed up. From about 10pm on Saturday night until about 8am yesterday, I got something like 70 spam comments on this blog. One or two – okay, I can put up with that. 70? No way, I am not going to put up with that! And so, off came [...] It is school holidays here – the winter break – and we were all very ready for it! Because of this, I am giving myself a week off from work. I apologise that I will not be able to attend to your orders or your questions while I am busily lazing around doing nothing. (Actually, [...] Well, I did it! On Saturday I completed 20km of the Walk for Women to support the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital. I awoke early in the morning to the sound of rain. Oh no, not a rainy day! However, the skies cleared, and while there were some showers in the early section of the walk, [...] In thinking about today’s Walk for Women, fundraising for the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital, I wanted to explore, through writing, what it might be like to be a woman whose life seems to end when a fistula arrives.
