learning Mountmellick a sheer pleasure

I received a lovely email from a customer the other day, who has been teaching herself how to do Mountmellick embroidery. I include some of if below.

By the way, I haven’t sent a picture of the problem I was having with Palestrina stitch, but I did notice that the instructions in Inspirations magazine which […]

Snow White mountmellick – cable plait stitch

I have had a number of enquiries about the instructions for cable plait stitch, to use with the Snow White mountmellick tablecloth. The instructions for this stitch have not been included in the most recent issue of Inspirations magazine, in which Snow White has recently been published.

When Inspirations publishes a project, they often can […]

Happy Mountmellick Day! (St Patrick’s Day!)

Happy St Patrick’s Day to you all!

I have a little Irish blood within me, and I do love Mountmellick embroidery, which is of course Irish.

I have decided this is a great day to celebrate all things Irish (particularly Mountmellick embroidery) and am therefore very pleased to announce that we now have our new […]

Karen has written a completely unsolicited review of each of my books, and […]

Book review – Mountmellick Embroidery: Inspired by Nature

The other day I received a copy of a book review of “Mountmellick Embroidery: Inspired by Nature” that was recently featured in Maggie Grey’s Workshop on the Web.

It was a very complimentary review, written by Samantha Packer. I cannot reproduce the whole thing here, due to copyright, but have included a small extract:

The […]

two books off to the publisher

Well, its been a few weeks since I last posted, but there’s been a really good reason for that!

I finally got my book “Mountmellick Embroidery: Inspired by Nature” off to the publishers. What a relief! Then, as I surveyed my office the next morning, I realised that I needed to reprint “Elegant Hardanger Embroidery”, […]
