Christmas swap ornaments

Today I will start showing you some of the ornaments sent and received in our Christmas swap. Mine still hasn’t arrived, but we have not yet had any further mail deliveries since Christmas, so that is not surprising! Hopefully in the next few days…

Today I have two ornaments to show you. One made [...]

Liking Vetty Creations

I’ve been spending some time over the last few days adding “like” buttons to my website (you can see one at the bottom of this post). I haven’t done all the pages yet, because it takes time, but I’m getting there! These buttons mean that you can “like” various pages of the Vetty Creations website [...]

Hardanger to drool over

A few days ago, a regular reader of this blog and long-time correspondent of mine, Shay, sent me some Hardanger blog links. (Thanks Shay!) There was one that I just have to share with you.

Its the blog of a lady in Spain, Mamen. Unfortunately I don’t read Spanish, but you don’t need another language [...]

To follow on from my post the other day about my Hardanger ornament with the organza overlay, I thought that you might like to see some of my other projects that feature this technique. If you’d like to join our Christmas ornament swap, all the details can be found here.

First we have a needlecase, [...]

Its winter school holidays (that’s “vacation” to some of you!) here at the moment. I’ve finished re-knitting my jumper, gave it a wash, and its now drying (hopefully the air in here is warm enough!). Amazingly, there was a whole sleeve of Grandma’s original knitting left over, (the previous jumper was very bulky, and the [...]

Teach yourself Hardanger embroidery

Thank you to all those who have commented on my idea for a beginners Hardanger booklet. It has been interesting reading why you think it would be helpful to you – such as that you’d like to use a booklet like that while travelling. This makes me think that you’d like it in a smallish [...]

Beginners hardanger booklet?

With my recent Hardanger class for beginners, I wrote extensive step-by-step notes as a handout for the students, so they could take reference home with them, to refer to. One of the students in the class said to me a couple of times “No, don’t show me. I’ll see if I can do it from [...]
