Book tour – Early-Style Hardanger

Some people go on a book tour when they release a new book. I’ve never done this, but I thought I could instead take you on a tour of some of my books. I know that some of you have been along for the ride since the beginning but some of you are newer to […]

Cuffs and collar from Early-Style Hardanger

Yesterday I received some photos from Cathinka in Norway, who has my book Early-Style Hardanger.

“Thank you for making Hardanger understandable to me. I started learning in March last year and now it sits in my head and I’m beginning to feel confident.”

This is a beautiful shirt that Cathinka has created using the […]

ANZEG conference classes

The ANZEG National Embroidery School is the largest gathering of embroiderers and textile artists at one time in New Zealand.

I will be teaching two classes at this year’s ANZEG conference in New Zealand: Early Style Hardanger Panel and Portuguese Whitework Sampler. I believe there is still room in each of these classes. […]

Looking at Hardanger

The Embroiderers’ Guild of Victoria (BC, Canada) has just started a new series looking at Hardanger on their Facebook page. This is great news, and I shall enjoy following it!

I’m going to be controversial here. I believe that the first post with which they have introduced this next focus, doesn’t actually show any Hardanger […]

The Dovo Hardanger scissors (which I sold the last of at the Sydney Craft and Quilt Fair) are now back in stock.

And finally, I again have all sizes of the Klass and Gessmann wooden hoops with stands back in […]

Embroidery prize redraw

Unfortunately the winner of the Hardanger that I was stitching at the Sydney Craft and Quilt Fair, whose name I drew last week, did not contact me within the week (I even gave a few days extra!), so I have redrawn the prize. The new winner, again drawn totally at random, is Catherine Robinson.

Congratulations […]

Stitching during the show

While I was at the show, any time I wasn’t serving customers, I was sitting at the front of my stand, stitching. This is because people are always interested to see someone doing needlework. It was like I had a four day long “Stitch in Public Day”. I find it interesting to note how many […]
