White Threads

Let the show begin!

At 9am this morning the Sydney Craft and Quilt Fair begins! It will run 9-5 each day, until it ends on Sunday.

Janie, Belinda and I all arrived at the Darling Harbour Exhibition Centre yesterday morning at about the same time, and managed to get everything set up in about 3 hours. We were pretty […]

Set up day

Today is setup day for the Sydney Craft and Quilt Fair. Our lounge room looked like it was moving day, last night and this morning! Boxes everywhere!

Once I’ve set up, I’ll have to do some food shopping and make some meals for easy reheating during the remainder of the week. Honestly, how do working […]

Sydney Craft and Quilt Fair

A reminder that in just over a week’s time, I’ll be exhibiting at the Sydney Craft and Quilt Fair at Darling Harbour. It runs from 9-5 each day from 22nd-26th June.

I’ll be at Stand K39, so please come and visit me! I will be running a Craft Circle each day from 1:30-2:30, “Basic Embroidery […]

designing covers

I am going to be an *awful* tease today. On Friday afternoon I designed a highly possible cover for my new Portuguese whitework book. I need the cover for publicity purposes for the Sydney Craft and Quilt Show in a few weeks time. But its too early to show you here, as I don’t even […]

mad rush is on

The countdown to the Sydney Craft and Quilt Fair is on. Its not long to go now (22nd-26th June), and I have a lot to do to get ready for it!

My most favourite task of all – and one that I need no encouragement to do – is to get more stitching done on […]

drawn thread work done!

I did it! Last night I finished the drawn thread work for the tablecloth for my Portuguese whitework book. What a feeling of accomplishment! One only slightly dampened by the fact that I now have about a million and one bullion knots ahead of me…

The drawn thread work base just by itself looks gorgeous […]

Roberto Capucci – colour and form

When we were away on our little break over Easter, I bought a book called “Roberto Capucci: Art into Fashion”. First impression: WOW! This is a book filled with images of incredible fashion creations. The colour and form of the dresses was simply amazing.

My second realisation about the book was that it an exhibition […]

Royal Easter Show

I spent yesterday at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, demonstrating on the Embroiderer’s Guild of NSW stand. There were four of us there, and we all turned up with quite different embroidery to work on. Well planned? No, just complete chance! 🙂

As always, it was lovely spending time with other embroiderers, talking embroidery, thread, […]

getting ready for the craft show

Over the past little while I’ve been preparing my stock and display ideas for the Sydney Craft and Quilt Fair that I’ll be exhibiting at in June. I’ve been ordering in new stock (not necessarily new products, though there are some of them) so that I have a good amount on hand.

I received some […]
